Welcome to Nirnstorm.com‘s Stamina Nightblade ( Stamblade ) PvP build for the Blackwood patch!
This build was made and written by Grimhallow – more information about the author at the bottom of the page.
In this patch, procs are back and we have been given a lot more base damage. That means more players are running high-damage specs as opposed to the tanky specs of the past. When you are solo in Cyrodill, gankers and bombers pose an ever present threat to your fights, which is why this patch I have opted to build tankier than usual and have adapted my damage sources to adjust to the added damage that has been provided at base.
Setup
Race
The optimal race for this build is Wood Elf.
Other alternatives such as Imperial, and Dark Elf are also viable.
Mundus Stone
The optimal Mundus for this build is The Serpent as it increases our Stamina Recovery.
Good alternatives would be The Warrior, or The Shadow.
Mortality
Vampirism Stage 3 is the best choice for this build as at this stage you get to benefit from both the Strike from the Shadows and the Undeath passives.
Attributes
You may reduce the amount of attribute points put in Health (listed above) all the way down to 0 and in turn increase the amount of points put into Stamina to fit your personal playstyle.

Main Sets
Clever Alchemist – Clever Alchemist is the highest damage tank set, and the tankiest damage set. It can take some time for some players to get used to changing the way that they use potions, but the results are worth the time investment.
The Morag Tong – Morag Tong is a set to look at this patch. Increasing damage that enemies take is better than increasing your damage done, and it also means that your targets are vulnerable to poison and disease damage abilities that come from players besides you.
Mythic
Gaze of Sithis – Sithis is the mythic, and it is a no brainer for any Stamina Nightblade. Stamblades have enough mobility and LOS (line-of-sight) with cloak to safely forfeit the damage mitigation conventionally provided by block. It is overpowered – try it.
- Note: For more information regarding the setup, make sure to check out the attached build video!
Consumables
Food
Artaem Takeaway Broth is still the best food to use, even though the health recovery is moot.
Potions
Tri-Stat Potions (made with Bugloss, Columbine and Mountain Flower) are my go to, but I try to carry a stack of Detection Potions in case I need to snag a Nightblade out of stealth.
Poisons
Double Dot Poisons can be a lot of fun on the bow bar. Alternatively Snare Poisons are hilarious if a little expensive.
