The Iron Victory build is designed to do just that – be victorious with it’s huge flatlining burst and incredible durability and sustain.
This build is great for duels and fighting outnumbered in small groups or solo PvP!
Setup
Race
The optimal race for this build is Breton because of it’s passive Magicka Regen and it’s Magicka abilities cost reduction.
Any other Magicka-based race will do too, so High Elf and Dark Elf would be good alternatives.
Mundus
We are using The Atronach mundus stone as it gives us additional Magicka regeneration which helps us sustain our 5-pieces heavy armor build.
Mortality
We are using playing this Magicka Necromancer build as a mortal to avoid receiving any penalties.
Alternatively, if you’re interested in playing the build as a vampire to gain access to the vampirism skills, you could play it on stage one.

Balorgh – This set is where most of our huge burst comes from, due to it giving us large amounts of Spell damage and Spell & Physical Penetration, which benefit all of our damage skills.
Main Sets
Diamond’s Victory – This is a new crafted set introduced in Blackwood. It gives you two unique buffs based on the range of skills you cast: Skills with up to 7 meters range will give you Ranged Supremacy; and skills with more than 7 meters range will give you Melee Supremacy. You want to keep both these buffs up as much as possible.
Keep in mind Blastbones can proc both of these buffs, so make sure to cast it at least every 5 seconds.
Ironblood – This is the “Grand Daddy” of all defensive sets in my opinion, it gives you a huge unique 30% damage reduction buff for 10 seconds at the cost of reducing your movement speed. That’s not a big deal though because we use Race Against Time.
Minor Set
Armor of the Trainee – We use one piece of this set to help increase our Max Health, as more Max health means you live longer!
Mythic Item
Malacath’s Band of Brutality – This mythic ring increases our damage done by 16% while reducing our critical damage by 50%. Since this build has a very low critical rate to begin with, this ring is the way to go to increase our damage.
- Note: If you plan on playing mostly in no-CP PvP you should add a 2nd Tri-Regen / Magicka Regen jewelry glyph.
Armor & Weapons
Heavy Armor – We mainly use this armor type for maximum resists, Max Health and for helping us take less damage from the thousands of stamina builds out there!
Dual Wield Maces – We use these because they give us the most damage possible in the game – now more than ever because many players are stacking resists with sets like Pariah.
Ice Staff – We use this weapon to have access to Elemental Drain, be able to heavy attack to restore Magicka and to block incoming damage.
- Note: You can replace the Dual Wield Maces with a Sharpened Lightning Staff on the front bar and the Ice Staff with a One Handed & Shield on the back bar if you prefer.

We use Bewitched Sugar Skulls because it gives us all: Max Magicka, Stamina and Health in one food.
Potions
We use two types of potions on this Magicka Necromancer build:
- Essence of Immovablity for Immovability, Detection and Magicka Regeneration (Columbine / Bugloss / Mountain Flower).
- Tri-Stat Potions for Health, Stamina and Magicka sustain (Columbine / Cornflower / Wormwood).
Poisons
We use Escapists Poisons for rooting enemy players that are attempting to escape the fight or stopping players riding away on mounts. Good for proccing the Juggernaut CP passive too (Made with Columbine, Namira’s Rot & Wormwood).
