Welcome to Nirnstorm.com‘s Stamina Templar ( Stamplar ) PvP build for the Blackwood patch!
This build was made and written by Ani (AnimationCanceling)– more information about the author at the bottom of the page.
This build is great for all kinds of PvP: Battlegrounds, Cyrodiil, Dueling and Imperial City. It functions well in both CP and no-CP environments without any chances.
This build focuses primarily on mobility and kiting enemies as a defensive measure.
While viewing this build, keep in mind PvP builds are very personal and this is what worked for me. If you don’t like something about it, you should change it to fit your playstyle.
Setup
Before we get started, here are a few notes / tips regarding this build:
- Try to pick up all the Essence Thief procs (runes) unless you physically can’t due to the rune parkouring up a tree, or you having 20 people chasing you. Making your decision on the appropriate time to pick up these runes will come with practice, but it’s important to always pick them up when possible.
- This build shines in places with good line of sight so choose your locations to fight wisely.
- This build isn’t meant for brawling, so find the appropriate offensive window and pick off the squishy targets first.
Mortality
We play this build as a Stage 3 Vampire for the Undeath passive.

Main Sets
Essence Thief – This is one of my favorite sets, period. It provides damage, sustain and health in a 5 piece set.
Twice Fanged Serpent – This set provides the penetration you lack from not having a Minor and Major Fracture. Power of the Light has lost its merits after the nerf, and running Sword & Board with Pierce Armor is good for a 1v1 but not in open world in my opinion. Poison Injection allows you to keep the full stacks and Biting Jabs make it super easy for you to gain stacks.
Arena Weapon
Master’s Bow – Gives incredible amounts of Weapon Damage which also helps you maintain the TFS stacks.
Mythic
Ring of the Wild hunt – The bread and butter that glues all the pieces together. With this ring you will hit max speed cap while sprinting.
Minor Set
Armor of the Trainee – In a meta where it’s hard to gain Health, it’s almost mandatory to have a single piece of Trainee.
Consumables
Food
We use Arteum Takeaway Broth since this one food gives us all: Max Health, Health Recovery, Max Stamina and Stamina Recovery.
Potions
We use Tri-Stat Potions (made with Bugloss, Columbine and Mountain Flower) to help us heal and sustain both our Magicka pool and our Stamina pool.
Poisons
We use Double DoT Poisons on the front-bar (Can be made in multiple ways, the important part is to make sure it deals damage to enemies 2 times every second).
