Build Contents

Welcome to my Stamina Sorcerer (Stamsorc) PvP build for the Flames of Ambition patch.  This build is geared for a hit and run playstyle that packs a lot of punch power, sustain, and survivability.  In other words, the build excels at any situations and PvP environment.

If you want to drop someone from 100% to 0% in an instant, or have limitless sustain and good survivability, then go nowhere else!

Monster Helm

Balorgh – This set just fits the hit-and-run playstyle perfectly, as it gives us a weapon damage and penetration boost for 10 seconds whenever we use our ultimate.  The more ultimate points you save up, the harder you will hit.

Bloodspawn – You can use this set instead of Balorgh. This set is more utility based as it provides some resistances and ultimate regen.  Over the course of a fight, the ultimate regen will let you use more offensive or defensive ultimates, which will either help you setup more burst combos, or be harder to defeat.

Main Sets

Eternal Vigor – This set is arguably one of the most stat dense sets in the game.  It provides several lines of stamina and magicka recovery, as well as a huge health recovery buff when you are below 50% HP.  While it is a pure sustain set, the real power of it comes from the ability to run all damage glyphs on your jewelries.  Normally, you would have to run one or two regen glyphs on your jewelries to be able to sustain in PvP.  However, Eternal Vigor lets you stack full damage glyphs, so it is technically a damage set if you look at it from that perspective.

Mechanical Acuity – The power of our burst lies within this set.  When procced, you have 5 seconds to crit ALL your damage and healing abilities.  This effectively makes it one of the strongest burst sets in the game. Like Balorgh, it fits the hit and run playstyle perfectly.  Despite having a 21 second cooldown, the kill potential is unaffected because the entire point of wearing Mechanical Acuity is to front-load everything into that 5 second window.  When used correctly, you can easily take out several targets at a time.  When used defensively, Acuity also makes all heals crit. This effectively boosts your survivability by a ton.

Arena Set

Master’s SnB – We run this arena set on the back bar because it gives us a nice burst heal whenever we use Puncture.  Since the cost of Puncture is relatively low, you can spam it to survive incoming pressure.

Weights & Traits

5 Medium/2 Heavy – Although there is more freedom with gear weights, we are still using 5 medium pieces because it is required for Elude, a medium armor ability, to be slot-able.  AoE damage is stronger this patch, which makes Major Evasion mandatory for our build. Although you can technically get Major Evasion from Blade Cloak in the dual wield skill line, the duration of Elude is much longer, and we get Major Expedition for free every time we are hit with AoE damage.  This makes Elude a more attractive option for AoE damage mitigation. We also have 2 heavy pieces for the heavy armor and undaunted passives.

Reinforced – This trait will be on our chest piece because it gives 600+ resistances. This value can bump up our resistances to the next percentage, which is useful for extra defense.

Impenetrable – We still need a few impenetrable pieces to mitigate crit damage because we lost a lot of crit resistance from CP.

Well Fitted – Since we are in medium armor, our main form of defense is dodge rolling. Wearing several well fitted pieces will help us reduce the cost of dodge rolls and allow more consecutive rolls for sticky situations.

Setup

Race

The most optimal race for this build is surprisingly Woodelf.  This race provides us with penetration, stamina recovery, and extra movement speed that complement the hit-and-run playstyle of the build. Orc is also a good alternative if you want more healing.

Mundus Stone

The optimal Mundus for this build is The Shadow because we are front-loading our damage within that 5 second window of Acuity. However, Lover is also a strong pick, especially if you’re fighting someone with high resistances and crit resistance.

Food

Bewitched Sugar Skulls is the most optimal food because it gives max health, max magicka, max stamina and health recovery.  However, Artaeum Takeaway Broth is also a good alternative if you want to conserve your magicka for Streak.

Potions

Since our magicka sustain is decent, we use Immovable potions for Health, Stam and CC immunity (made with Columbine, Mountain Flower & Wormwood) or Weapon Crit potions for Health, Stam and Major Savagery (made with Mountain Flower, Water Hyacinth & Dragonthorn).
